Superintendent/Principal - KATE HUFFMAN
This job combines two incredibly important aspects of Kate’s life. Her devotion to public education and her home, Mt Baldy, so it is a great honor and privilege for her to serve as Mt Baldy School’s Superintendent/Principal. In fact, she shares that she feels such profound purpose in this role, it sometimes doesn’t even feel like work. And the fact that her children are third generation Mt Baldy School students underscores the rich history and roots she feels here. Kate began her career in education as a classroom teacher, then moved into leadership roles. She is delighted to have landed at Mt Baldy School and looks forward to what her third year will bring.
TK, Kindergarten & first grade Teacher - alyssa potts
I was born in Upland, California. I have lived in Upland for most of my life and I love it. I have a beautiful 3 year old boy named Lykos. We love to play outside and travel to new places. I received my Bachelors in Human Development (School Age Track) from Cal State San Bernardino and Masters Degree/Credentials in Education with an Emphasis is Social Emotional Learning. Throughout college I worked full time and started my teaching journey at the Upland Unified School District. Working as a long term substitute has been the biggest blessing in my life for many reasons. One being because I have been able to create strong relationships with students and staff from many different schools and grade levels. Also, being a substitute teacher has prepared me so much for my future as a teacher. I am so excited to be a part of the Mt. Baldy community!
